This is the color I wanted and will be
part of a color scheme later on. I had this color mixed special to match some of my
other engine parts,
if you remember them a
few pages back. The clear is a polyurethane and it has a catalyst to
make it harden but stays pliable.

Just a close-up of the front. It came
out just like I wanted it too. I should have taken a shot in the sun
because this paint changes big-time in the right light. Next up is to
install the lifters and rev-kit.

Here I'm putting on the camshaft lube
that was supplied by Iskenderian. The lube called "Rev-Lube" is for those
critical moments when the engine is started for the first time. The
heavy valve spring pressure against the cam and lifters can wear things prematurely
if your not careful. I used a small brush to reach through the oil
drain-back holes and applied it to a small section, then rotated the
engine and repeated the process till the entire cam was coated.

I put some duct-tape over the
drain-back holes and the distributor hole just in case I were to drop
any small parts. I would hate to have to remove the oil pan to retrieve
a tiny objects so this is just some insurance. The parts I'm going to
install are the roller lifters and rev-kit. The lifters have some small
washers that attach to the top to help keep the soft aluminum top from
getting scratched from the rev-kit springs. This is why we have the
tape.
