The grill shell is a piece that ties
more than one panel together. What I mean is that this piece has to fit
the hood, both hood sides, bottom of the front fenders and a small
portion of the inner fenders. If this piece doesn't do "one"
of those things, the panels don't fit right. The first thing I noticed
was that the top of the grill shell hit the top of the radiator. I had
been wondering about the clearance between the two since I ordered this
monster cooler and now I was finding out. It looks like I'm in for more
creativeness. The first thing that had to be done was drain the water
from the radiator so I could remove the top hose. I also removed the two
bolts that were holding the radiator to the chassis so I could move
things around if need be.

The first thing that had to be addressed
was the gap between the grill shell and the inner fender. That gap was
about 3/4" which meant removing material from the bottom of the
inner fender so the grill shell would be able to lay back. Now this
may not seem like much movement but that means 2" - 3" at the
top of the grill shell.

I have a small clamp holding the two
fenders together at the center to make sure the two lined-up. Then the
bottom of the front fenders where the grill shell sits were drilled in
two places at the dimples. I then used a scribe to transfer the
holes to the grill shell from underneath.

This is what it looks like after
scribing the hole locations (kinda looks like a shark look'n at ya
don'tchathink....ok....maybe I'm trip'n). After drilling the two holes
and putting bolts through them, it fit good....at least at the bottom.
Now it was time to slowly fit the sides of the inner fenders to the
grill shell. If I were to take too much off, you would see a gap between
the two and that's not a good thing. Sooooo, slowly removing material is what
I was going to do.
