Well the first thing I had to do was
take out the brake pedal arm out so I could get to work on it, but
things didn't go very smooth. Now when I installed the arm awhile back,
the engine and transmission were not in so sliding in the arm wasn't a
problem. To slide the arm in, I had to turn it 90 degrees to the
firewall because of the tab sticking out for the brake pedal pad (see
the threaded hole in tab). As I tried to turn the arm, it hit the engine
so that left me only one option....cut it in two. As you can see I broke
out the hacksaw and started in. I used a clamp to hold the arm as I cut
which was like a third hand.

Once I removed the arm, I started to
think how I could relocate or reshape it. There is a bushing that goes
in the large hole and a bolt goes through the bushing. The small hole is
where the adjustable arm from the power brakes goes. This area had to
stay in it's original location to work properly which meant anything
from the bent section on was fair game.

The first thing I did was make a copy
or template of the arm in case I screwed up somewhere along the way. You
can't be to careful ya know. Cardboard works great for things like this
because you can tape pieces together and make just about whatever you
want.

After the template was finished, I
made some copy's of it in a copy machine. Cutting paper is very easy
too. After cutting and taping a few pieces together, I had what I
thought would work.
