33 Coupe Engine 14        5/26/03

The last time I built a car, I had taken many trips to the plating shop but now I can get almost anything I want already plated. Now these look plated but really there polished stainless steel which is better to me because the plating won't chip or fade away.

Now these bolts have a rating of 170,000 PSI which is much stronger than grade 8 bolts. The fasteners we have are for the intake manifold, thermostat housing, water pump, oil pan, coil bracket, timing cover, distributor bracket, valve covers, headers, motor mounts, fuel pump and alternator bracket bolts. This was a good way to have most of my bolts match.

This is my flex plate made by Pioneer. This will bolt to the back of the crankshaft and has 168 teeth. It's SFI approved and has been welded on both sides of the ring gear. You can use two different size torque converters with this unit as it has two bolt patterns. Notice how three of the outer bolt holes are in a different location than the other three. Nice and pretty looking.

To hold the flywheel on it's ARP time again. These are rated at 190,000 psi and have 12 point heads. I guess I didn't need polished stainless steel if its behind the torque converter.
