Let there be light. It was time to
install my headlights and the ones I'm using are made by King Bee. I had
three choices of finish's to chose from which are paint-able, chrome and
polished stainless. I went with the polished stainless and hope they
look good when I paint the car. The headlight mounts are made by
Vintique Inc. which are chrome. These lights are 7" in diameter which is
the same as a normal sealed beam but these have Halogen bulbs which are very
bright. A stock headlight that would have come on a 1933 or 1934 back in
the day were much larger but I wanted more of a hot rod look so this is
why I choose the smaller ones.

After measuring and finding the spot
to mount them, I drilled a 17/32" diameter hole through the fender
because the stud coming out of the headlight was 1/2" so this would
give me a small amount of room to adjust it. When I placed the mount on
the fender, then placed the light through it and tightened the nut, the
light didn't stand up straight anymore. The reason was because of how
the fenders were curved and the light was being tightened down on a
curved surface so it ended up at an angle instead of straight-up.
Looking at the problem from under the car, I noticed that the stud was
normal to the surface but I needed it to be at an angle to the surface
so I welded a couple of washers together to see if that would solve the
tilting headlight dilemma. The reason I used washers was because they
already had holes in them for the headlight stud to pass through and it
was easy to make. After determining the correct angle that I needed, I
welded a small support to the other side of two washers and I now had
        the combination that would work.

The distance between the two washers
are one inch and if you notice, the washers are two different sizes. The
reason is because if I used two 1/2" washers, the extreme angle
would have not allowed the headlight stud to pass through so I just used
a 5/8" diameter washer for the other one. It's not pretty but it
works very well. I'll be covering the wires up with some purple stuff
like you see in the picture below.

While I was at the front of the car, I figured I
should install my grill too. This is a polished billet aluminum grill
and it looks awesome. I ordered it from Redneck Street Rods the day I
ordered my body so this means that I've had it for a long time now. I
don't know who makes it but Wayne at Redneck said he knew a guy that
made grills that were very nice so I had to add it to the list of body
        parts when I was ordering.
