33 Coupe Engine Install 38        01/01/04

Mounting the radiator was just a matter of laying out two holes and drilling them through the supports on the bottom. This is an aluminum radiator made by Griffin. This one is the biggest one Griffin makes for a 33 Coupe. It has two rows of 1 1/2" tubes to help things stay cool. Most radiators have two rows of 1 1/4"  or 1" tubes but this one is larger for the extra heat that my engine will probably make.

When I ordered it, I wanted the top hose to be on the opposite side of the bottom hose. The normal way this radiator is made is with the top hose in the middle but this should cool better now because the water has to cross all the way over to the other side before exiting back into the block.

For the radiator cap, Billet Specialties got the call once again. This is a 16 pound cap with a polished cover that fits over the working cap. All you do is install the part that attaches to the radiator and then align the polished part how you want it. Very simple but looks good.

For the hoses, I just couldn't see using the dull black ones so I thought I would use these from CoolFlex. These hoses are beautiful to say the least. They come in a variety of colors and sizes to meet your needs.

They are made out of copper and then powder-coated. Cutting them with a Dremel made it easy to get the right length. Then you just bend them to the shape you need and install the ends. They come with rubber that goes under the ends and then gets held on with stainless hose clamps.
