The starter ended up so close to the
headers that I was afraid that the heat would melt the wires so I had to
come up with a solution.

What I did was cut a small piece of
aluminum that was 1" X 3 1/2" X 1/8" and drilled two
5/16" holes in it. Then I bent it like the shape you see below. The
bent piece will be used to move the wires out of the way of the headers.
This worked just fine so I made one out of copper. As you know copper is
a much better conductor than aluminum. I marked some lines on my new
piece, placed it in my vise and bent it with a soft faced hammer.

After bending it, I gave it a radius
on one end (the one that will show) and sanded it for a good contact.

This is what it looks like all
finished and installed. The new extended piece adds some much needed
clearance and gets those wires out of the way of the headers. I wish all
the projects were this easy.
