The bottom has an island in the middle
of the screw hole so the bracket that holds the TPS won't slip or move
in any direction. In other words, it's the same size as the slot in the
bracket. All the holes are 1/4-20 threads. Let's bolt the bracket on and
see what it looks like.

By putting a flat washer on first and
then a lock washer, the bracket has no chance to move which is something
that better not happen because this tells the transmission computer what to
do. If this were to slip and loose adjustment, the transmission and
computer would be out of sink. That would mean the transmission wouldn't
shift right or not at all so this is a critical piece in the puzzle with the 4L80E
or any electronic transmission.

Now that the bracket is nearly done,
it's time to bolt it to the throttle bracket. In order to make sure it's
in the right place I clamped it down, checked it's position and then
removed both brackets clamped together. Now it was time to drill two holes in the throttle bracket.
Notice the tape on the nice anodized finish. I wanted it to stay that
way while clamping.

This is a 1/4-20 tap and it will be
used to mark the location where I need to drill some holes. With the new
bracket clamped to the throttle bracket, I'm going to run the tap in
from the bottom side and put a small dent into the soft aluminum. This will give
me a place to center punch later and then drill the holes.
