33 Coupe Engine Install 30        10/26/03

To hold down the valve covers, I'm was going to make something but couldn't figure out what so I bought some from Billet Specialties instead. These have studs that screw into the head first and then you install the solid aluminum nuts.

Here you can see the stud which is really a long set-screw. It has socket on top for a hex-key to fit in so you can tighten it down.

After putting the gaskets on valve covers, this is what it looks like with the new hold downs in place. They have a 7/16" hex head on the top so you can use a socket or wrench to tighten them. I may have to send these to the plating shop with some other parts later on because I don't like to much shinny-on-shinny stuff. I like the contrast that different colors make and these might look better anodized. I guess we'll see later on when I paint the car.
