The fire stations were well marked and there were over 4.5 miles of fire hose.
 

 

 

There were three dentists on the ship.
 

 

 

With so many men aboard, it kept them busy everyday.
 

 

 

There were five physicians.
 

 

 

Each washing machine could hold 198 pounds of dry laundry. The max RPM of the machines were 1725 and the water temp was 350 degrees. This was one of the worst places to be working because of the heat.
 

 

 

4752 pounds of laundry could be washed every 12 hours and 43,000 pounds of laundry every week. The ship produced 240,000 gallons of fresh water daily.
