When a part is made out of steel,
anodize won't work so I went with paint on those pieces. Here you can
see my transmission pan that received the same color paint my engine
block has. I also painted two brackets for my shifter cable (opposite side)
along with some other pieces. Notice the transmission line clamp to the
right. That part has been anodized to give you an idea of how close they
match which is what I was after. Now you can see the color difference
between the converter and the rest of the pieces. To keep the warranty
on the converter, I'm not allowed to alter it in any way whatsoever so
it's going to stay that color :-(

It's hard to see here but the
rack-and-pinion has been painted purple too but in this picture it looks
much darker. Notice the oil pan, it looks dark here too but when the
lights are on them, they look awesome.

When I first bought my alternator
sometime ago, I had a choice of colors so I chose the color you see
below. Well back then I took a chance on the color being what I wanted
but as you can tell, it's not. Now if I wanted to match my torque
converter, then yes. What I wanted to do was paint this the same color
as the other stuff. I thought about masking all the little places that
an alternator has but after looking at it more closely, I didn't think
that was such a good idea so I took it all apart. I didn't want to do it
this way but it was the only way to make it look right. I hope it works
when it's back together.

This is what it looks like after painting. I'm glad I took the time to
take it apart and do it right.
