33 Coupe Paint 4        7/01/05

Looking at the back we see something that you don't see on to many converts. The back is made out of a solid piece or billet. The one piece unit adds to the price but it also adds strength....big time. This is the insurance that I was wanting because the other unit might not take the punishment that I'll give it. It also has two set's of bolt holes to fasten it down with. I had to remove the paint from the spud that you see sticking out in the middle so it would enter the back of the crankshaft.

Just for the record, I didn't paint this converter, Precision Industries picked that color. It doesn't match the colors that I have but it's close so it's a good thing it's under the car.

Here you see the parts that I had anodized purple. It looks like a bunch of stuff but really it's not because they will be spread out all over the car. To make them look as good as I could after platting, I buffed most of them to a nice luster before I sent them. They looked so good after buffing them, I almost didn't want to send them because of how good they looked. I found out this little trick about shinning them before-hand by accident when I sent two different companies a sample piece. When the sample pieces came back, they didn't look all that good but the color was right. I knew right then that giving the pieces a nice finish before the platting would be the key to making them look good. It's hard to tell in this picture just how nice they look because the flash washed them out so you'll have to take my word for it.

Here is the sway-bar bracket installed to give you an idea of how the two colors look together. I polished the heads of the stainless bolts which really stands out against the purple anodize. It's hard to see but I also polished the flat head cap screw at the bottom of the bracket. If you look close, you can see the pearl in the paint playing with your eyes from one surface to another.

Moving forward a small amount, you see two of the many brake line clamps that found there way into the platting tank. I sure do like the look of those two colors.
