This is a close-up of the two
lag/machine threaded pieces. This should give you a better idea of how
the mounting will end up. To install these, all you do is double-nut the
studs and then use the top nut to tighten them in place. When your at
the depth that you need, you just remove the two nuts and your done.

After bolting in the fuel cell and
marking the area that needed to be cut away for the fuel lines, I carved
out a hole with my jigsaw.
|
|
I had to enlarge the hole for the fuel
cell some but I also had to relieve the floor. This isn't the best shot
but this is looking down at the hole in the floor and the lighter area
is where I had to relieve for the bottom of the sump on the fuel cell. I
figured that this would work much better than if I were to just open up
the hole bigger. The relieve area is about 3/8" deep but it's hard
to tell in this picture. I did this with my air grinder and a carbide
tool.

Here it is all mounted and ready for
some fuel line. I'll be running the fuel line along the frame rail and
then I'll need to plumb some line for a vent. Because the tank is
mounted in the trunk, I'll have to vent it to the outside. Don't want to
be smelling any gas fumes ya know!
