33 Coupe Having Fun 22       8/07/07

All of the stars and planets must have aligned because what you see below is downtown Banning, Ca. (my home town) which is having a show called, "Cruisin' Ramsey" every Friday night from 6 - 9 pm. They're going to run this show from August 3 to September 21st which is open to 50's and 60's Classic Cars & Trucks, Antique Cars & Trucks, Motorcycles, Sports Cars, Convertibles, Custom Trucks & SUV's, Custom 4X4's, and Ugly Cars & Trucks.

There's no entry fee or registration but they do give out trophies at 8:30. There is also a downtown cruise loop open to everyone which is like watching a parade go by. And there's a live band that plays 50's and 60's tunes all night. They had a few vendors selling stuff and they had food too.

Now this was the first show they had, and like most first time events, they had some growing pains to deal with. What they did was park all the show cars along the curb, which is fine, but as you can see, they are parallel parked, not angle parked. They were suppose to block off the street, but that didn't happen either, which meant normal traffic was going by all night. The following week, they blocked off the street and angle parked everyone, which was a very welcome site.

If you look close, you can see a car coming down the street, which is a cop. I was in the middle of the street getting ready to take this picture but after I saw who it was, I walked to the side. You never know what they might say, and beside, their were cars driving down the street.

This show just happened to fall on the same night as another show in a neighboring town. So for our first show, it wasn't as big as they had wanted, but the following week, the place was packed. Let's take a look at some of the cars that did show up.

The red Chevelle belongs to guy named Terry, which is a member of the Shifters Car Club. It was nice to see him out again.

Here is a long row of nice looking hot rods. The Chevy wagon is a two door and belongs to s local auto and graphics painter.

The guy that owns this pickup, Don, lives right here in town and after seeing him at a few shows, I've become friends with him. He drives it everywhere and it's one nice ride.

This truck belongs to another Banning guy that I've known for a long time. He's done a great job on it as you can tell. It's powered by a Chevy small block and runs pretty good.
