Working With Metal Continued
I used my Dremel with a sanding drum to deburr the holes.
Here is what the EMT fittings look like
with them installed.
And a look from the inside. This is the top and I'll be adding one more
hole in the center which will be for the 1/2" EMT.
After a few more minutes, I had my smaller hole finished. Now it's time
to work on the face of the box.
This bar stock will be fastened to the front and I thought it would look
nice if the corners were mitered. Here I'm using my metal cutting saw to
cut some 45 degree angles.
Here I'm doing some final fitting to make sure everything lines up
properly.
I'm drilling some clearance holes for some 5/16" diameter lag bolts.
This is the fun part because things transform very quickly from just
okay to much cooler looking very quickly.
I did a little sketch of the pocket hole screw to make sure I would
clear it. Just making sure ya know. Also notice the metal on the side is
slightly above the wood surface. This is the look I was after along with
the flat bar butted up against it.
I'm machining the door to size below. This part is right up my
alley....metal working on a milling machine.
