It's Finished
Here it is all finished. I applied two coats of satin polyurethane
clear and sanded with 400 paper after each coat.

The fit and finish came out pretty good.

I like the contrast between the two species of wood.

Here you can see all the edges have a nice rounded edge.

That one piece of pine is slightly different color than the rest, but I
liked it so why not.

In case someone looks under it, they will see my personal brand.

I sure do like all the knots, it makes it look that much better in my
opinion.

There is one thing I'm not happy with and that's the
area around the nails. If you look close you can see a slightly
different color which I believe is the wood putty. I used a putty knife
to apply the putty with and this might have been my downfall because it
was 1 1/2" wide. I should have used a very small applicator for this
operation, but I'm always learning. At the end of the day, I'm sure my
granddaughter won't mind a bit. Merry Christmas Juju.
