This Lazy Susan project is going to be a Christmas
present for my oldest daughter Stephanie, which came about when she saw me
making one for her Grandfather
a few months ago. But at that time, I was way past making two of the top
pieces, however I was in time to make two of the bottom pieces.
As you can see the size will be 20" diameter for the top
and 12" for the base. These sizes worked out great for my father-in-law
so it should work for this one as well.

Building the Base
This is the base and I'm making them out
of pine. I'll be gluing two pieces together so I'm jointing the edges on
my table saw.
Next is the gluing process so I'll come back the follow day to remove
the clamps.
I ran them through my thickness planer which only takes a couple of
minutes.

Making Tooling
I'm working on a circle making fixture for my router so I can cut just
any size radius that I want. In fact, I'm making two, a large one and a
smaller one.
I'm using 1/4" MDF for my fixtures, which should work good for this.
All I have to do now is drill holes for the given radius size I need.
The pin size is 3/32" diameter (small nail).
I used a 1/2" cutter for this and it worked great

Making the Top
The next step is to glue the top together. The top will be almost 20"
in diameter so I'm doing the glue-up in two pieces because my planer can
only handle 15".
The next day I ran them through my planer. The blue tape represents the
top.
Once I was finished using the planer, I glued both pieces together
making sure that top surface was flat.
