Making Boxes Continued

There we go, the cross braces are installed.

All the legs move nice and easy now.

Here you can see the angle on the legs.

And here you can see the small amount of clearance that will be needed once I coat thing with paint.

I bought a six inch hole saw to cut the hole with. I could have used a jigsaw or my router but that isn't as precise as something like this.

I marked my location for the large hole but it's hard to find the center because this hole saw is so large. However, by drilling the 1/4" hole first makes this a much easier task because the pilot drill on hole saws are the same size This is a quick and accurate way of making sure the hole is in the right spot.

One more trick I did was to only go halfway through with the hole saw. Then I turned the boards over and drilled the rest of the way through. This prevents 'tear-out' when the saw exits the other side.

This worked out great and didn't take long either.

At this point it was time to sand all the surfaces. For the top and sides I used my DA sander but used my sanding block for the all the edges. And a little hand sanding around the hole.
