Christmas Candy Canes  2                                                8-2023

As you can see the lid has an O-ring making the box water tight.

My lights need 12 volts so I bought a small transformer to run all my lights with. It also came with a quick disconnect plug which will make hooking thing up that much easier.

I'm using speaker wire that will run from cane to another. And each connection will be soldered and have shrink tubing. I believe this will necessary to keep all the connections dry for a potential wet environment.

Here is one of the connections all finished.

I had a few feet of LED's leftover from a previous project but I needed more so I bought the same brand, color and brightness. Over the years the box had changed but everything inside it is the same.

I'm making some brackets that will attach the transformer to the box, and elevate it as well.

The box has provisions for screws in various places on the bottom which made attaching the brackets easy.

I had some plastic plugs sitting around and used them at the ends of each cane.

I'm using some clear caulking to keep water out of the grommet area.

All of the connections are on the inside of the canes so they should stay dry.  It doesn't have to look nice, it just has to work.
