33 Coupe Before Paint 6        3/25/05

The inside mirror is also made by Billet Specialties. You have a choice between glass mounted or screw mounted arms and I'm using the screw on type. It measures 1 3/4" X 4 1/4" which is much smaller than what I'm use too.

The mirror arms are made to be installed above the windows on the doors but I wanted to have them mounted below the windows. In that case all you do is reverse the arms which means you use a left one for the right and a right one for the left. After sitting in the car and looking through them, I'm going to have to get use to how small they are. I look through a big mirror every time I drive my truck so these little things are going to take a while to get the hang of.

I'm going to change the color of my gage lights because I didn't really like the boring look of the white light that comes with them. I thought a different color would look better so awhile back I bought some covers from Auto Meter that go over the bulbs but they didn't look much better. Then I started playing around with some a L.E.D. (Light Emitting Diode) in one of the gages to see how it looked. All I can tell you is they look great. L.E.D.s come in a few colors (red, blue, green, amber, purple and white) and I'm gonna use blue. I've played around with L.E.D.s in the past on some other projects and they add a whole new look when they're on. Now you may be wondering why I didn't choose purple for my gages. The purple ones are a little to light and they don't really look like purple so I went with the blue ones. The blue L.E.D.s are a "deep blue" color which is just what I wanted. In order to do the change of color, I was needing some new sockets to work with. The reason for the new sockets is because I was going to hack these new ones up to work with my new lights. This way I could go back to my other ones in case the new ones didn't work out. I called Auto Meter and asked them a couple of questions about there gages and the next thing you know, they were going to send me the sockets for free. I thanked the guy and in a few days, I received what you see below. Not only did he hook me up on the sockets (seven total), he threw in a new bulb (for the tach because it's different than the rest), a bunch of decals and a new catalog. Now that's what I'm talk'n about!!! A big "thanks" goes out to Auto Meter for treating me right. Once I get the new color in the gages, I'll post some pictures of them.

Here's my buddy K.D .(Kevin's Dog) kick'n it on her rug. She likes being in the garage with me while I'm working, especially when it's raining. And as much as it's rained this year, she can't get enough garage time being 13 years old. She doesn't see, walk or hear to well anymore but when it's feed'n time, she knows what "you want some food" means!!
