Working With Metal Continued
Here is the main block all finished.
I bought these thumbscrews with one inch
long threads. I cut them down to about 1/2" long for this project.
Here are all the pieces for the work stop. All I have to do now is
install them.
One more thing I wanted to make was a hook to hang the work stop on when
it's not in use. I'm going to modify this long 1/4" bolt so it will
fasten to his portable miter saw stand.
First I bent the bolt to 90 degrees and then I marked a spot that I'll
be cutting it at.
I deburred the end and now it's ready to be fastened to the miter saw
stand, just like I have.
Here is the saw stop in place on Matt's miter saw and it only took a few
minutes to install.
In this shot you can see both mounting rods making it easy to setup a
work stop from either side.
I attached the hook in the saw spot that I have mine,
which lets the long rod rest between the frame. Matt has the same miter
saw stand as I have and now I'll wait and see how long it takes him to
notice it and then use it.
