I masked each end and then sprayed both tubes in my make shift paint
booth. And I only had one run in the paint, so that's not too bad considering it was
cool outside.

I placed the flag brackets over the pole
and tightened down the setscrew. That left a spot in the pole so I could
drill a shallow hole for the setscrew to ride in. This will help keep
the brackets in place.

It's Finished
Once the paint dried it was time to assembly everything and here is
what it looks like.
|
|
The pole is 6 1/2 feet tall and together everything you see below weighs
16 pounds.
|
|
The topper stays still but the flag will rotate with the wind.

|
This part will go into the base and will take all the load. And that
hole is for a screw to keep it in place. Although, that one inch
diameter shaft fits the base without very little clearance

I sure do like having ol' Glory back on the house because it's been a
long three weeks. Overall, I'm happy with how it came out and I'm
looking forward to seeing how it holds up... along with seeing it every
day again.
God Bless America!
