Working With Wood Continued
Tracey bought some LED lights that are very small and run off 3 AA
batteries. I made and glued a small piece of pine to the wall and floor
to hold the battery pack in place.

Here is another piece that was leftover from that same previous project.
I'm using my router table and putting a 3/16" corner round on all
four sides. This will be a chimney once I'm finished.

Here I'm using an end mill to put a through-hole in the chimney. Note
the soap, this helps keep the end mill from making noise (squealing).
I suggested the chimney might look nice if it had a
pattern on it, like brick or stone one would have. Then she drew a few lines
on the block of wood to see if she liked it and we both agreed on the
look. Then I showed her where my Dremel was and she went after it.
She used a carbide tool that had a full radius and started following her
lines.
I thought a few surfaces would look nicer once they had some clear on
them, like the darker woods. She didn't want it too glossy so I used
satin clear.
Here we're gluing on the chimney, using gravity as out clamp. Also
notice the chimney, and all of the front pieces now that they have clear
on them. What a difference!
