The 2nd Annual Sprit Lead Car Show was held at Wildwood
Calvary Chapel in Yucaipa, CA. on July 31st. The show hours ran from 5
to 9 pm and they had a nice turnout. This show was canceled twice a few
months ago because of bad weather so it was moved to the end of July in
hopes of sunshine. This third attempt almost didn't happen either
because the day before the show we had some very intense thunderstorms
which included inch sized hail and an inch of rain in less than half an
hour.
Now this type of weather is very unusual this time of
year and wouldn't you know it a couple of hours before the show the
clouds came back in with the threat of rain once again. Someone was on
our side this time because the only thing the clouds did was block the
sun which made for some lower temps this time around. In other words the
weather was fine with temps in the 90's and some cloud cover.
This show had something for everyone: a huge raffle that
included a 50" flat screen, 50/50 opportunity, 4 giant jumpers and games
for the kids, Angus McCurdy's was cooking over an open pit fire serving
tri-tip sandwiches, chicken, potatoes along with drinks and deserts.
They also had a live band playing oldies and classic rock, a cool fire
breathing display from monster hot rod "WILD THANG" and they had some
really cool looking custom trophies too.
I took a bunch of pictures again so sit back and enjoy
over one hundred hotrods that made the show that day.
