The 19th. Annual Redlands Firefighters Car Show was held on May 24th. in
Redlands, Ca. The show hours ran from 8:00 am till 6:00 pm but almost
everyone left after the awards were handed out by 3:30 that afternoon.
Now if you want a good parking spot you'll have to arrive early which
Larry and I did as we were in our spot by 5:40 am. And believe it or
not, a bunch of people were already there when we arrived. This is a good show for a couple of reasons and the first
being that all the proceeds go to the Redlands Firefighters Benevolent
Fund and the other is the show is held in the older part of town that is
lined with trees which makes for a really nice setting.
The show has lots of food and refreshments, vendors of all kinds, a
beer garden, a huge raffle, 50/50 drawing and if you don't like what's
being served by the vendors, you have lots of restaurants along State
Street where the show is held.
The weather that morning was cool and rainy when we left town.
However it
didn't rain at the show and the temps were in the mid 60's. There were
about 275 cars and trucks that showed up which made for another nice
turnout of hot rods despite the weather elsewhere. |
