The 18th. Annual Redlands Firefighters Car Show was held on May 25th. in
Redlands, Ca. The show hours ran from 8:00 am till 6:00 pm but almost
everyone left after the awards were handed out by 3:30 that afternoon.
Now if you want a good parking spot you'll have to arrive well before
the starting hour which Larry and I did as we were in our spot by 5:45
am. And believe it or not, a lot of people were already there as we
rolled in. This is a good show for a couple of reasons and the first
being that all the proceeds go to the Redlands Firefighters Benevolent
Fund and the other is the show is held in the older part of town that is
lined with trees which makes for a really nice setting.
The show has lots of food and refreshments, vendors of all kinds, a
beer garden, a huge raffle, 50/50 drawing and you don't like what's on
the vendors menu, you have many choices of restaurants along State
Street where the show is held.
The weather that morning was cool and overcast with low clouds but
later on the sun was out and temps were in the high 80's by the time we
went home. That made for a perfect day and if you got to warm you could
sit next to one of the buildings for some shade.
There were about 275 cars and trucks that showed up which made for
another nice turnout of hot rods.
