On September 19th, the Banning Rotary Club put on a charity car show in my
home town of Banning. This was the third annual show for them and the
turnout wasn't as good as last year, but they had some nice cars show
up. The reason for the lackluster amount of vehicles was because there
were other shows going on near by, like the very popular Route 66 show held in San
Bernardino which brings in over two thousand cars. This show went from
8am to 2pm and they served a pancake breakfast in the morning and they
had spaghetti with garlic toast, salad and a dessert for lunch. I was
lucky enough to have a friend of mine give me a meal ticket which I used
for the lunch.
With this show being right in town and only two blocks from Larry's
house, he decided to bring out both of his cars. The car below is his
Super Gas car (that he's had for about a year and a half now) which runs
really good. It has a 352 cubic inch small block Chevy with a power
glide. He loves the car but it's hard to sit in because of how small the
drivers area is. Oh...and he won an award for driving the least amount
of miles to the show too.
