33 Coupe Transmission  12        03/11/04

Shifting to another subject, here is my new shifter made by B&M Racing called the Pro Stick. Let's check out some of the parts and features that it has.

This shifter comes with a reverse lock-out, neutral safety switch, shift knob,  five foot cable, cable mounting brackets, shifter linkage and wiring. There are a couple of nice features that the Pro Stick has and one of them is the reverse lockout. If you've ever been cruising down the road and bumped the shifter for any reason and it happens to find its way into reverse, you'll like this one because that won't happen. You have to push a small lever towards the bottom of the shifter to be able to change gears into reverse which can all be done with one hand. No more banging gears and finding reverse! Another nice feature is the way you change gears. The large lever is used to shift from second to third by pulling it toward you, but you don't need it going from first to second. Then you use it again to go from third to forth. This makes it easier to make sure your in the gear you want when your at wide open throttle. It sounds confusing but it's not and makes for a safer way of shifting while racing. The flat package in the middle is a 4 speed gate plate which is also made by B&M Racing.

The gate plate had to be purchased separately and has to be used because the Pro Stick is set-up for a 3 speed but because I have a 4L80E transmission (4 speed), I'll have to use this plate in place of the other. All you do is remove three C-clips and two bolts to change it.

Here are the rest of the cable mounting brackets that come with it but won't be used. B&M supplies these for the many different transmissions that might be used with this shifter. If anyone needs any of these, let me know because I'll give them away.
